Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
How does White Leaf Provisions ensure the quality of its ingredients?
Every White Leaf ingredient is farmed in a way that follows and supports nature, reducing our families’ exposure to toxic chemicals, while healing the soil. Our nutrient dense products are crafted to meet the highest European Union (EU) standards, drawing from the most rigorous and time-honored ecological farming certifications in the world. Each batch of our products undergoes independent third-party testing to meet or exceed the heavy metal standards set forth by the FDA, California's Proposition 65, and other regulatory bodies.
What does Regeneratively Farmed mean?
Health starts in the soil. We are proud to ONLY source from farmers who utilize organic and regenerative organic farming practices. Modern farming practices are very destructive for both human and planet health, prioritizing profits over people. Emissions from agricultural production, use of toxic chemicals, water pollution, loss of precious topsoil, pollinators and insects, as well as irresponsible animal management are all results of how the majority of our food is grown and managed today.
Regenerative farming is the holistic system of healing the earth through agriculture, going beyond “sustainability” by actively restoring the land. A regenerative farming model, instead, uses the highest organic farming standards as a baseline and goes beyond. It does so by farming more in tune with the natural rhythms of nature, in the ways in which farming was done for thousands of years before the need for GMOs, toxic and synthetic chemicals, mono-cropping and other destructive farming practices.
Research demonstrates that regeneratively farmed foods have higher nutritional content! This is because quality soil is the most essential pathway to healthy food. By supporting regenerative agriculture, we can help restore soil health while even drawing carbon from the atmosphere, creating a food system that actively contributes to climate resilience.
Do your products contain allergens?
All of our products are vegan, kosher, dairy-free, and nut-free. While our main facility is free from dairy, eggs, and nuts, it does process gluten—with thorough cleaning between production runs to prevent cross-contamination. Please note, our applesauces are made in a separate facility that also processes milk, wheat, fish, tree nuts, and peanuts, but follows strict cleaning protocols to reduce any risk of cross-contact.
Can I purchase your products at my local grocery store?
You can find a selection of our products in Whole Foods Markets, Meijir, Harris Teeter, Natural Grocers, Sprouts Markets, Raleys, as well as local specialty grocers and small organic markets across the country, such as Erewhon, EarthFare, Central Market and Fresh Thyme Markets. Find the store nearest you with our Store Locator.
Does White Leaf Provisions test for heavy metals?
Yes! Each batch of our products undergoes independent third-party testing to detect and measure heavy metal levels, including lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury. We meet or exceed the heavy metal standards set forth by the FDA, California's Proposition 65, and other regulatory bodies. Find the latest test results by scrolling to the top of each product’s listing and click the “Lab Testing” box at right. You can also view test results and find more information about our approach to farming on Our Standards page.
